As a new grad RN, I can totally relate to the scenario- it seems that people have been in the health care industry awhile tend to lose sight and focus and the important things- the people that they are taking care of. Isn't that why we all decided to join this crazy industry? Because we all care and want to be present, in the moment with the person, not the disease? If I remember right, he had MS, but it may have been Parkinson's. (I never did officially find out.) Anyway. There were more than a few nurses who refused to treat him due to how badly he shook and appeared to swing at them. He wasn't swinging at them, he just had no control over his movements.
