While working as a lift assist to a particularly nasty patient....
"Please... Sir... Don't play with your colostomy bag. I'm begging here."

Made me grin. Always good to catch up with your news.
So did McHottie read your previous post?
It was like one night when I did Building maintenance for a senior care facility,(yes rest home) I was working on a project and I turn around and spot an elderly man yarding his fully inflated Foley out.
and I yelled "Oh no that cant be good".
hey Epi I tried to read Detail Medics blog and she set it to
private ....Doug sad now.
do you have any luck there?
Is it bad that I gagged at the thought?
Hey Epi...Been reading your blog regularly for a few weeks, and may I just say you have a way with words! I look forward to each new post. I'm a transfer EMT, and skin is the last thing I address on my reports, I think of you each time I write "pt's skin was pink, warm, and dry." And I don't mean that in a creepy stalkerish way lol, just saying I enjoy your blog, keep up the good writing!!!
Yikes, who knew I'd get comments on a two sentence post about a colostomy bag.
David: I don't know if he's read it or not... My cell phone hasn't blown up yet, so I have a feeling he hasn't.
Doug: I had a run that was very similar... The fire alarm had gone off and our patient thought that he could "turn it off" by yanking on his foley. The results were spectacular. And no doubt miserable for him. And I believe DM's blog should be visible now.
Bernice, given the fact that the act of just changing his colostomy bag can clear out a room, no it's not bad that you're gagging.
Whitley: Gosh thanks so much for the wonderful comment, it means a lot to me. I'm serious :)
They used to sell colostomy bag pistol holsters that the user could fill with peanut butter for added effect.
This was before people could get concealed carry permits and were afraid of being searched.
